For as long as I can remember
those wiggly, jiggly squares of varied colors
helped to brighten up the holiday tables.
As the years have passed
the recipes available in magazines and jello packages have changed.
The modern wigglers have nothing on the old full body knox blox.
We started using water but as we matured in our knox blox making we used juice.
Here is the original recipe:
4 envelopes Knox unflavored gelatine
3 packages(3 oz each) flavored gelatine
4 cups boiling water(or juice)
In large bowl, combine Knox unflavored gelatine and flavored gelatine;
add boiling water and stir until gelatine dissolves.
Pour into large shallow baking pan(for example 13x 9) and chill until firm.
Cut into squares to serve.
Makes about 100 one inch squares.
