Soup for Hot Days
(or any day)
Grandpa always said a bowl of hot soup on a hot day will help cool you down.
Where the logic came from I don't know.
We are about to fall under heat advisory so I thought I'd post a few of Gramma's soup recipes here check back for more later.
Old -Fashioned Split Pea Soup

- IN 3 5 quart kettle combine peas and 1 quart water; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, covered 45 minutes. Add more water if necessary

- Remove ham shank from soup; cool; cut ham from bone; dice.
